YANG Fengfan, born in Nanjing, China, in 1966. He received the B.sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering in 1990, 1993 and 1997, respectively, from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, Nothwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, and Southeast University, Nanjing, China. During 1997-2003 and 2006-2008, he was first a senior research associate at City University of HK, and Surrey of Surrey, UK, and then as a visiting professor at McGill University, Canada for various research in wireless communications. Now he is a full professor at College of Electronic and Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China. His current research interests include channel coding andits applications, in particular, the coded relay cooperations, optimized codes design and peformance study. Professor Yang is now a senior Member of IEEE and a member of IET, and also serve as the external examiner of Ph. D thesis and visiting research professorin the Dept. of EECE, University of Pretoria and University of KwaZulu- Natal, South Africa.
