English Major Department
英語(yǔ)專業(yè)是泉州師范學(xué)院的傳統(tǒng)優(yōu)勢(shì)專業(yè),2000年正式招收本科生。2011、2012年相繼獲批“福建省高等學(xué)校特色專業(yè)建設(shè)點(diǎn)”、“福建省創(chuàng)新人才培養(yǎng)改革試點(diǎn)——卓越中小學(xué)教師培養(yǎng)計(jì)劃”和“福建省本科高校專業(yè)綜合改革試點(diǎn)”,2013年獲批教育部“專業(yè)和課程改革”示范項(xiàng)目,2014年“卓越小學(xué)英語(yǔ)教師培養(yǎng)改革項(xiàng)目”入選福建省卓越教師培養(yǎng)計(jì)劃改革項(xiàng)目。
The English major department in QNU boasts traditional advantages and it has officially recruited undergraduate students since 2000. In 2011 and 2012 the School's applications for Construction of Featured Majors for Colleges and Universities in Fujian Province, Trials of Innovative Talent Cultivation Reform—Outstanding Primary and Secondary School Teacher Training Program and Trials of Comprehensive Specialty Reform of Undergraduate Institutions in Fujian Province were successively approved. In 2013 the application for the Demonstrative Project Subject and Curriculum Reform was approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2014 the Reform Program for Cultivation of Outstanding English Teachers for Primary Schools was selected as one of the reform programs for cultivation of outstanding teachers in Fujian Province.
英語(yǔ)專業(yè)開(kāi)設(shè)英語(yǔ)(師范類)專業(yè)和英語(yǔ)(非師類)專業(yè),現(xiàn)有18個(gè)教學(xué)班,16-19級(jí)全日制在校生527名。專任教師28名,其中英語(yǔ)教授3名,副教授8名,講師8名;日語(yǔ)講師6名。教師中擁有博士學(xué)位的教師4人,在讀博士2人。
The English major department consists of two sub-departments: educational major and non-educational major. Presently the whole department owns 18 classes and an enrollment of 527 students in bachelor’s programs. Currently there are 28 full-time faculty members, including three professors, eight associate professors, eight lecturers who are responsible for English-related courses, and six lecturers who are in charge of Japanese-related courses. Four of the faculty members have PhD degrees, with two others pursing their PhD degrees.
英語(yǔ)(師范類)專業(yè)立足泉州、面向福建、輻射全國(guó),培養(yǎng)適應(yīng)我國(guó)基礎(chǔ)教育改革發(fā)展要求,忠誠(chéng)黨的教育事業(yè),德智體美勞全面發(fā)展,具有人文情懷、科學(xué)素養(yǎng)、創(chuàng)新精神和國(guó)際視野,扎實(shí)掌握英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言理論知識(shí)和教育學(xué)、心理學(xué)基礎(chǔ)理論,具備良好的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力、教育教學(xué)能力、跨文化交際能力以及一定的研究能力,能夠在中學(xué)及其他教育文化機(jī)構(gòu)從事英語(yǔ)教育教學(xué)相關(guān)工作的高素質(zhì)教師。
The English Major (educational) in Quanzhou Normal University recruits undergraduate students not only in Quanzhou but also from Fujian province and the whole country. Keeping in mind the requirements of China's basic education reform and loyalty to the Party's education cause, the Major aims to achieve the all-round development of students, cultivating their competence in humanities and sciences, innovative spirit and international vision. Moreover, the students are required to have a good command of English, as well as the basics of pedagogy and psychology. With proficiency in English language, teaching, research and cross-cultural communication, the graduates will be well qualified to be English teachers in high schools and educational institutions.
英語(yǔ)(非師類)專業(yè)培養(yǎng)德、智、體、美、勞全面發(fā)展,適應(yīng)國(guó)家和區(qū)域經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展需要的,具有扎實(shí)的英語(yǔ)基本功和專業(yè)知識(shí)與能力,同時(shí)具有一定的日語(yǔ)交際能力,掌握相關(guān)專業(yè)知識(shí),具有健全人格、理想信念、社會(huì)責(zé)任感和國(guó)際視野,能夠適應(yīng)未來(lái)職業(yè)和社會(huì)發(fā)展,能熟練地運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)和較熟練地運(yùn)用日語(yǔ)在外事、經(jīng)貿(mào)、文化、科技等部門從事翻譯、管理、外貿(mào)、商務(wù)等工作的應(yīng)用型高級(jí)專門人才。
The English Major (non-educational) in Quanzhou Normal University aims to achieve the all-round development of students, who can meet the needs of regional and national economic development with a high level of proficiency in English and a certain level of communicating ability in Japanese. The students are supposed to develop a sound character, to nurture a noble ideal, to take social responsibilities and to broaden their horizons internationally. With proficiency in both English and Japanese, the graduates, well adaptable to the vocational and social development, will be able to enter such professions as translation, administration, business and foreign trade in various sectors like foreign affairs, finance, culture, science and technology, etc.     
本專業(yè)通過(guò)科學(xué)定位和分步建設(shè),強(qiáng)調(diào)實(shí)踐教學(xué)在課程體系建設(shè)和人才培養(yǎng)中的重要地位,形成穩(wěn)定高效的雙渠道多層次實(shí)踐教學(xué)模式,即通過(guò)校內(nèi)第一與第二課堂和校外實(shí)踐教學(xué)基地兩個(gè)主渠道,從英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫、譯、研等多個(gè)層次,對(duì)學(xué)生進(jìn)行高強(qiáng)度訓(xùn)練,使之具有扎實(shí)的專業(yè)知識(shí)功底和突出的專業(yè)應(yīng)用技能。強(qiáng)調(diào)以賽事能力、考證能力、創(chuàng)新能力、就業(yè)能力為主要觀測(cè)點(diǎn),形成科學(xué)有效的人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量評(píng)價(jià)體系,鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生積極參加各種與本專業(yè)相關(guān)的比賽、資格證書考試、頂崗實(shí)踐、求職競(jìng)爭(zhēng),賽出成績(jī),考出水平,敢于創(chuàng)新。近三年,學(xué)生在“華文杯”全國(guó)師范院校師范生教學(xué)技能大賽決賽中2人獲得特等獎(jiǎng),4人獲一等獎(jiǎng);在福建省師范生教師技能賽中5人獲二等獎(jiǎng);在“挑戰(zhàn)杯”大學(xué)生創(chuàng)業(yè)計(jì)劃競(jìng)賽省級(jí)競(jìng)賽中,1人獲得銀獎(jiǎng),1人獲得三等獎(jiǎng);在“外研社杯”全國(guó)英語(yǔ)演講大賽的30多個(gè)高校中,獲得1個(gè)“一等獎(jiǎng)”,在“外研社杯”各項(xiàng)比賽中4人獲得省級(jí)一等獎(jiǎng);在全國(guó)大學(xué)生英語(yǔ)競(jìng)賽,5人獲得全國(guó)一等獎(jiǎng);“創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)訓(xùn)練計(jì)劃”獲批6個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí),9個(gè)省級(jí)項(xiàng)目。
Through a scientific positioning and step-by-step construction, the department emphasizes the importance of practical teaching in the curricular system and talent cultivation, and forms a stable and efficient dual-channel and multi-level practical teaching mode, that is, through two main channels—the first and second classrooms and the teaching practice off campus, so as to carry out intense training of listening, speaking, reading, writing, translating, and researching of English language for students, aiming to develop their professional knowledge and application skills. The department emphasizes the students' abilities to compete, research, innovate and work, forms a scientific and effective quality evaluation system for talent training, and encourages students to participate actively in various competitions, qualification examinations, practice and job hunting competition to show off their skills. In the past three years, two students have won the top prizes in the finals of the Hua Wen Cup National English Teaching Skills Contest for Normal College Students and four other students won the first prizes. In the Fujian Teaching Skills Contest for Normal College Students, five students have won the second prizes. In the provincial competition of the Challenge Cup college students' entrepreneurship competition, one has won the silver prize and one won the third prize. In the FLTRP Cup English Public Speaking Contest, one has won first prize, competing with contestants from more than 30 colleges and universities, and four have won first prizes in FLTRP Cup English contests at provincial level. Also, there have been five first-prize winners in the National English Competition for College Students, and nine provincial-level and six national-level undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
本專業(yè)培養(yǎng)的學(xué)生既具有較強(qiáng)實(shí)踐能力的中小學(xué)英語(yǔ)教師、又能靈活運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言平臺(tái)開(kāi)展對(duì)外交流、服務(wù)海西建設(shè)的綜合性應(yīng)用型人才,從而在同類高校英語(yǔ)專業(yè)人才培養(yǎng)模式改革和創(chuàng)新中起到示范作用。
Not only are the students of this major qualified to be teachers for primary and high schools, but they also have the ability to apply the English language flexibly in modern foreign exchanges. The department cultivates talented students for the Western Taiwan-Straits Economic Zone, and thus creates a training mode of English professionals that would be taken as a model of teaching innovation in similar universities.
